Kahfii joined Compass in 2020. As a member of Compass’ Strategy team, she collaborates with Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program practitioners from across the country who are looking to create and sustain the best FSS programs for their residents. Kahfii looks forward to building upon this network of stakeholders to continue building community, improving FSS programs, and encouraging effective policy change.

Before coming to Compass, Kahfii worked for eight years in the food access sector. Most recently, she worked at The Food Trust in Philadelphia on policy advocacy and implementation at the state level for healthy food access initiatives such as Healthy Food Financing, which provides flexible grant and loan dollars to healthy food retailers, and SNAP incentives, which increase the purchasing power of SNAP families at farmers markets, grocery stores, and corner stores. Kahfii has also successfully advocated for a $1MM recapitalization of the Pennsylvania Fresh Food Financing Initiative and supported the implementation of the Massachusetts Food Trust Program.

Kahfii holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in English - Writing from Butler University and a Masters of Public Affairs (MPA) with a concentration in Urban Sustainability from Indiana University-Indianapolis under a nonprofit management lens.

She enjoys travel, as well as activities related to fitness and wellness, and is working towards a proficiency in French.
