This webinar will walk attendees through the concept of an opt out model and how this could increase FSS enrollment rates. The model will be tested through the Helping More Families Save Act (S.970), bipartisan legislation in the Senate that would authorize HUD to test an innovative "opt-out" approach to the Family Self-Suffciency (FSS) program for up to 5,000 households. Housing providers who choose to participate in test would be able to automatically enroll FSS-eligible households in the program, while preserving their choice to opt out. Compass Working Capital is actively advocating to advance this bill with the goal of finding ways to significantly increase the number of families nationwide who are able to benefit from the FSS program. Attendees will learn the bill's key features and have to opportunity to ask questions of Compass policy staff about the bill.
